There was a slight hitch in my plans to fly home to NZ tonight. When the 747 was spinning up the engines to take off there was a backfire of about 10 feet of flame which is apparently not normal. After engineers checked it out and we sat around on the plane for a while we heard that we were going to be staying the night again in Frankfurt. It's now 5:30am and I've just got into the hotel room so a quick post before getting a little sleep and trying again tomorrow. They haven't been able to confirm our next flight schedules but will try and post that if I get a chance.
The travel fun continues...

Was just going to say how much we've enjoyed 'tagging along' on your trip (although would have preferred it if you'd taken me up on my offer of 'bag carrier':) Been great getting acquainted with your friends thru the blog too.

Thanks all you homestyles! At the moment I know we have a pickup from the hotel at 1:30pm for the next flight option which leaves here between 3-4pm. So, I'm not exactly sure what that does to my connecting flight from Sydney to Christchurch. Guess I will know for sure after my check-in.
Good luck with getting back home, Jonny! Seems like it might be more difficult than anticipated.
Of course, when they find out about your dodgy past they might not want to let you back in anyway. Y'know, associations with the Clark family... I dunno.
